Hi! My work focuses on expression, exploration, and communication.
I aim to use storytelling to tell other peoples’ stories as well as my own. I love experimenting with new mediums, unorthodox methods, and materiality. I aim to create work that expresses identity, intuitively conveys emotion, and documents moments in time. I try to acknowledge that failure is an important part of the process and not to be afraid of taking chances.
Art has always been a part of my life, it has always been what I wanted to do and what I enjoyed doing most. I am most myself when I am creating, and I always aim to translate that passion into my work.
I am interested learning more about diverse printing methods, documenting experiences through art & ephemera, and using code to create art pieces. These interests, along with my passions for sketching, illustration, printmaking, and typography all play a part in influencing my art practice.
In 2015, I applied to Emily Carr University of Art & Design, and discovered my love for communication design and how multifaceted that category can be. The four years pursuing my degree at Emily Carr were incredibly formative for my art & design practice.
Through Emily Carr, I was able to attend a course in Amsterdam focusing on design and design culture, as well as attending talks and tours at multiple design studios. This experience introduced me to the vibrant practice of Dutch design thinking and it left me with plenty of inspiration and guidance moving forward.
