In October 2019 I decided to take part in “Inktober”, an online challenge to produce a different ink artwork for every day in October. For many of the days, I drew from the experiences I had while visiting Amsterdam in the previous June as inspiration. Through this exploration I landed on the final print, which ended up being a mini visual record of the trip.
The trip was part of a course I attended in 2019 which was focused on touring design studios and museums in an effort to expand our skills, knowledge, and network.
During this experience I noted how alive the design scene is in the Netherlands; even the monotonous everyday flyers are designed beautifully. I greatly admire this passion for colour and good design, and it is a value that I aim to bring into my own work.
It was printed using a Risograph Printer on 3 different paper stocks with three different colour inks: Fluorescent Pink, Black, and Medium Blue.
